my new favorite blog: Indigo Days

I am taking a new writing class that started a few weeks ago. I love these classes through the Stanford Online Writer's Studio. At this point I have quite a few new online only friends...that is after three years or so of classes.

Well, Nancy is in my newest class. She lives in Japan and just lives such a deliberately lovely life. In her blog she talks about all of the food they grow over there...and she mentioned rice.

Rice.

Right, who grows their own rice?

She does. Well she and her family do.
I loved it. It just seems so amazing to grow all of your food. Her most recent post was about plucking the feathers off of her duck to eat it for Christmas. Wow.

Check it out...neat stuff over there...and some great recipes.

a collection a day

This blog, http://collectionaday2010.blogspot.com/, is highlighting a new collection of something everyday for 2010. I think that is kind of fun.

a house

We all know I desperately want a house right? Oh, wait, I don't want a house. I like renting. I like calling someone else and spending someone else's money when something breaks...but I love to decorate.* In fact, I wanted to be an interior designer when I was a child.

So I am following with glee this blog, Keeping Up With the Johnsons at the Readymade website. They bought a house in northern California and are redoing it.

I like their style, sometimes. The times where they go all modern, I love it...but sometimes it is horrible. They painted a wall all green. And their art, well, I don't have to live there!

They have put up some really neat instructions for fixing things or redoing things. And they have an awesome clam-shaped bed from the 70's with a built in stereo!

Take a look. Some fun stuff there.

* See post of photo shoot of our apartment for confirmation.

i can't read what they are saying

the baby and the mama scooters

I stumbled across this blog by a person who loves analogue photography. I can't read a thing they have said, but I still feel like I somehow share their world view. Thanks Internets. Bring people together. (Click here to go to Snap With Film.)

new blog header

So I am in love with etsy. What's etsy you ask? Well it is this "marketplace" for homemade items.

www.etsy.com

You can find lots of things for sale there, and the prices are great. I got the wedding place cards there and my new blog header! I love it. Alyson at Seventy and Sunny designed it for me. (Click this sentence for her shop.)

Can't wait to hear what everyone thinks!
